Between Ethics and Fame
is a short documentary filmed in Yunnan during the summer of 2024. What began as an attempt to tell a familiar story of cultural heritage was disrupted when reality challenged our assumptions about our subject. By observing the tensions between a local craftswoman and the tourists drawn to her viral fame, the film explores documentary ethics, judgment, and the complicated space between right and wrong.
